Our Mission, Focus and Approach

The mission of Profectus Partners is to help businesspeople address specific challenges.  We serve companies facing a leadership or ownership transition, and companies where results are not as robust as desired. We join forces with the client company, offering full-time hands-on management to steady the business (if needed) and grow it over time.  As we do so, we prepare the company for a subsequent monetization - such as a sale, recapitalization or ownership realignment – in which everybody is rewarded.

Our objective is to do well by doing good.  We look for situations in which we not only add value from a business standpoint, but also help people.  Examples of suitable client companies include any of the following:

    • a business with marketplace or financial challenges making it difficult to thrive or grow;

    • a family company with an elderly leader and no succession plan;

    • a private company with non-alignment or dissonance among owners;

    • a private company whose top management is departing, with nobody to fill the void; or

    • a company that is healthy, although the CEO isn't healthy.

We bring fresh perspective, along with deep managerial and transactional expertise.  We do so not as consultants who whisper suggestions from the sidelines, but as hands-on stewards, working at and with the client company.  We become responsible for, and are rewarded solely out of, the client’s enhanced success.

Because of the depth of commitment to each assignment, we undertake only one client at a time. And thus our model is to enter, one-at-a-time, into friendly arrangements with willing, qualified and committed clients where [a] we are held accountable for the results of an enterprise and [b] our agreement with the owners calls for us to split the upside in value created during the time of our participation.

In such situations, the success achieved is necessarily the result of a team effort in which everybody wins.
